I am the daughter of Thomas Hill and Suzanne Kelley.  I am in the 11th grade at St Cloud High School where I have a B average. I enjoy playing softball and taking pictures. I am studying Psychology, Spanish and Honors English and Chemistry. I like to travel, having been to the states of Georgia, Ohio, Illinois, North and South Carolina, and of course my home state of Florida. I had a whirlwind tour through England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg and Italy.  I have been to the Bahamas and Mexico as well.  My dream vacation is a trip to Australia.

I like to help the community, and do so by serving as the President of the St. Cloud High School Key club where we have raised money for Breast Cancer research, clean up the local beaches of trash and work the concession stands at sports events.  I am a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

I have many friends and enjoy making new ones. I love to try new things within reason.

I want to be a Neo Natal Nurse to care for newborn infants.

I have been selected to be a Student Ambassador with People to People. This is an organization that was founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He believed that “People in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments”. In the turmoil of today’s world that is a belief I share. People to People promotes peace by bringing together Americans with other cultures that they normally would not experience.

My cousins Nathan and Sierra both have had the opportunity to be student ambassadors. One traveled to Australia and the other to Alaska. Other students have gone to England, Italy, and the South Pacific to name a few locations around the world. My opportunity is to travel to the beautiful country of Japan.

While in Japan, I will have the opportunity to meet with a host family, visit sacred temples, and most importantly reflect upon achieving peace at the Hiroshima memorial. This trip is very important to me because I want to see how the Japanese culture is different from ours. I want to show the Japanese that Americans are not what they see in movies. I want to understand the differences in our cultures and promote peace.

This is an educational opportunity for me; I have the opportunity to earn high school credit and/or college credit. I will learn about the geography, culture, and history of Japan. In addition I am learning public relations, fundraising, and budgeting. Skills that are useful in all aspects of life.  Can you agree?

I need your help to make this opportunity happen. I have to raise the funds necessary to make this journey. With your help I will be able to travel to Japan. The program tuition is $7,239.00, which includes meals, transportation, accommodations, and educational activities. I am asking people to donate what they can to help me reach my goal.

My Dad and I are setting up a new website where we will track my progress to reaching this goal.  It will be http://blairsjapantrip.thomashillconsulting.com. We have also set up an email address of email://blairsjapantrip@thomashillconsulting.com.

Thank you,

Blair
